I saw Fifty Shades of Grey and ipso facto my life makes perfect sense. So I wrote a poem because obviously.
FIFTY SHADES OF SILENCE: a love story
Oh man, oh man
What can I say?
I think you think
You're Christian Grey.
You may be
Who knows
But you won't tell me
And it blows.
I try to tell you
Who I am
And what I think
And where I stand.
I could be crazy
And say too much
But what's left to cover?
More this, that, and such and such?
Don't get me wrong
That's fine by me
But there is a time
To talk seriously.
But you won't
(Most of the time)
And so I don't
It feels like crime.
This is surely hard on me
As you probably can imagine
I enjoy trading secrets
(But I guess that could be feminine.)
So when you choose
Not to talk
It confuses and stuns
And I leave and I walk.
It's not what I want
Of course you can see
But I know to go
While I'm still me.
This may not
Even be your fault
It may be me
That you don't want.
I thought you did though
At least for a time
When we walk and we talk
And laugh, maybe rhyme.
But maybe not
Who am I to say?
That's why I ask you
And you say nay.
I think that's what you say
Oh yes, I'm certain
Well why is that?
You have a curtain!
What do I want to know, you say?
If I crossed your mind today
And what you feel
And in what way.
Perhaps you really
Do not know
And that's ok
Just say so.
But I promise
That if you
Decide to finally talk
You won't keel over, suffocate
Or be unable to walk. 💋
